There Is Only One Way To Parent

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is only one way to parent.

YOUR OWN WAY.

But you knew that already, right?

We put so much pressure on ourselves to parent ‘the way’ we’re told is best for our children when there is no ‘best way’ to parent, there’s only our own way. The way you feel most comfortable and happy, which is nothing like anyone else parents because we are all unique individuals with our own experiences. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The pressure we put on ourselves to parent perfectly to other people’s narratives and definitions can lead to burnout as we try and navigate unrealistic expectations of ourselves.

(Want to know more about Parental Burnout?  Read this post here. It really is a thing!)

So, let it go

(cue Frozen theme tune – god damn it! Sorry)

Parent the way you want to parent because at the end of the day happy, loving and stress-free (well, less stressed, is stress-free possible with kids?) parents make for happy and more securely attached children.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And if people want to judge you for how you parent then that’s their problem to deal with, not yours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ll say that again for those at the back – if people want to judge you for how you parent, then that’s their problem to deal with, not yours.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember, you’re parenting the way that makes you happy and in turn your children happy, which is always the ‘best way’ because it’s YOUR WAY. ⠀
